creating footwear concepts for the future team, along with working on a personal project.
Project 01:
During my footwear design internship at Adidas, I explored how design could improve accessibility without compromising aesthetics or performance.

The project began with a simple question: how might a sneaker be easier to put on and take off for athletes with limited mobility? Through extensive sketch exploration and concept development, I investigated different opening systems, closure mechanisms, and entry points that could simplify the experience while maintaining a secure fit.

As part of the research phase, I met with members of the New York City Wheelchair Basketball Team to better understand their relationship with footwear and the challenges they face when putting on, removing, and competing in athletic shoes. These conversations helped shape the direction of the project and highlighted the importance of balancing accessibility, comfort, stability, and performance.

The resulting concept featured a pull-tab activated opening mechanism that allowed the shoe to open wide for easy entry before snapping securely back into place around the foot. From early sketches and technical explorations to physical models and prototypes, the project focused on creating a more intuitive footwear experience through thoughtful design.

Sketchbook

A collection of personal footwear explorations — studies of silhouette, structure, and detail.

These drawings are part of an ongoing process of observing and reinterpreting sneaker culture, from archival references to contemporary design language. They sit outside of client work and represent a more intuitive, experimental side of my practice.
